Jubilee Trust Events
Jubilee Trust Lottery
The Lottery is a monthly draw for a cash prize that runs from December to November each year. After the Big Prize of £500 in December there are 11 prizes of £150 each month until November
From October onwards we start recruiting for people to join the Lottery. We aim to get at least 200 people connected to the parish join. You pay a yearly subscription of £25 & complete the electronic form or the Tear-off from the Letter that is widely circulated. Approximately half the money collected is used as prize money throughout the year, the balance goes to the Jubilee Trust for its work. Draw numbers are allocated on receipt of subscriptions and a monthly draw is usually held in the Coffee Lounge after the 10 o’clock Mass on the 2 nd Sunday of the month.
Although we are currently in a cycle of monthly draws you can still join for the remainder of the year. Please email us if you would like to join the current cycle mshjubileetrust@rcdow.org.uk
First Friday Lunches
This concept was set up many years ago and has evolved over the passage of time. From simple beginnings of a soup and roll lunch, you will now have a 3 course lunch freshly cooked meal with wine all for £7.50. They are held in the BEC Suite on the First Friday of most months. Apart from
the fundraising aspect these lunches provide a regular social opportunity for people to come together and have a shared and affordable meal. People are invited to sign up on a sheet at the back of the church prior to the meal. Norbert is currently the organiser and has a solid team of
helpers for cooking and clearing up but there is always room for additional help.
Please come along and support some of these lunches.
Jubilee Social Group
Jubilee Social Club is a Social Day for older parishioners and other local people especially those who live alone or are lonely or may struggle to get out and about and socialise. The Club meets usually on the third Thursday of the month after morning Mass until approx. 2.30 pm. There is a varied programme of speakers, entertainment and outings throughout the year and all are welcome.
Again, people are asked to sign up on a list at the back of the Church prior to each meeting. To book your place for the meetings enter your name on the clipboard at the back of the church. We ask for a donation of £7.50 to cover costs, pay for speakers and subsidise outings.
If you would like more information about the Club please contact Ann-Maria L.
